Studies of Society and the Environment (SOSE)

SOSE provides a framework for the development of student’s knowledge and understanding of Australian society, societies in other countries, local and global environments and the interaction of people with the environment.

Children are encouraged to develop an inquiry based method of learning, which is based on three essential activities:

Investigation: Skills in researching, processing and interpreting data
Communication: Students learn to collect, process, analyse and present information using a range of formats and a variety of media
Participation: Students develop skills and confidence in collaborative work and decision making.
