Welcome from the Principal

Welcome to the website for Bell Primary School.

We hope that by exploring our site you are able to get a sense of who we are, what is important to us and the programs we offer.

At Bell Primary School, we actively encourage all families to engage in their children's education by building strong connections with staff, other parents/carers, and the wider school community. The Bell community is rich in diversity and inclusivity, values that are embraced by all and deeply embedded in our culture. This foundation is supported by our school’s vision and values, which were developed through extensive consultation with all members of the school community.

Our Vision

Bell Primary School is a caring community that fosters a love of learning in young people. At school and beyond, students are confident to think critically and empowered to thrive in a rapidly evolving world. We are grounded by our school values of Resilience, Creativity, Curiosity, Collaboration and Respect that establish clear expectations around the attitudes and behaviours that support a positive and productive learning community.

Our Values

  • Resilience – We embrace challenges and persist through difficulties. We learn from setbacks and bounce back with confidence.
  • Creativity – We are open to new ideas and explore innovative ways to solve problems.
  • Curiosity – We approach learning with enthusiasm and a desire to explore new and challenging ideas.
  • Collaboration – We work together, share knowledge, and support one another to achieve common goals.
  • Respect – We value individuality and inclusiveness, foster a safe and welcoming environment, and care for the world around us.

At Bell Primary School, we are committed to high-quality teaching that supports every student to thrive. We balance explicit instruction, where key knowledge and skills are clearly modelled and taught, with opportunities for students to become independent, self-monitoring learners who take ownership of their learning.

Guided by the Victorian Curriculum, our teaching and learning programs are differentiated to meet students' diverse needs. We aim to develop literate, numerate, and curious learners with a strong sense of self, empathy for others, and a deep connection to the world around them, locally and globally.

Our teaching reflects a deliberate combination of practices. Students build strong foundations through engagement with physical resources and manipulatives, while also developing 21st-century skills using digital tools to collaborate, create, communicate and solve problems.

We are intentional in how we structure learning spaces, balancing time in individual classrooms with collaborative opportunities in flexible learning environments.

Alongside core curriculum areas and capabilities, we embed cross curricular priorities within learning opportunities and school culture, including:

  • First Nations perspectives- acknowledging the histories, cultures and experiences of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and deepening students’ understanding.
  • Diversity and inclusion- ensuring every child feels a sense of belonging and is celebrated for who they are.
  • Sustainability- fostering environmental awareness and responsibility through meaningful learning and action.

Students at Bell benefit from Specialist subjects including Italian (LOTE), Physical Education, Sport, Music, Visual Arts, and STEAM.

You are always welcome at our school so if you would like to learn more about anything you have seen on this site please contact the office to arrange for a tour or to drop in for a chat.

Warm regards,
